Baseball Recap: Saddleback's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Saddleback took a nine-run defeat the last time they faced off against Bolsa Grande, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Roadrunners sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Matadors on Tuesday. Winning may never get old, but the Roadrunners sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Ricardo Marquez was excellent, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Lopez, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.

Saddleback pushed their record up to 8-5-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Bolsa Grande, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

Saddleback will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Matadors: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
