Recap: Providence Pioneers vs. Christian Academy Warriors
The Providence Pioneers proved they can win big last Saturday (they won by 27) but on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged Christian Academy out 44-41. That's another feather in the cap for Providence, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Despite the loss, Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from Joshua Renfro, who scored 21 points. Josh Chancey was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with six rebounds.
Christian Academy struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Providence's victory bumped their record up to 12-3. As for Christian Academy, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Providence will take on South Central at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. South Central has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 372 points over their last six contests. As for Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge Evansville Christian at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Evansville Christian presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Christian Academy in Indiana (Evansville Christian is ranked tenth, while Christian Academy is ranked 94th).
