Basketball Recap: Joyden Ricks Key Part of a Team Effort in Indians Win

Colbert County hadn't done well against Rogers recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Colbert County Indians walked away with a 55-42 victory over the Rogers Pirates. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 43-30 back in December of 2024.

Colbert County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Joyden Ricks led the charge by putting up 20 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Ricks has scored at least a third of Colbert County's points. Ashlyn Harris was another key player, posting 17 points.

The win got Colbert County back to even at 10-10. As for Rogers, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season.

Colbert County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 57-32 victory against Colbert Heights on the 20th. As for Rogers, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 68-60 loss against Lexington on the 20th.
