Calexico gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 65-37 win over the Shadow Hills Knights. That's more bragging rights for the Bulldogs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Calexico can attribute much of their success to Sabino Martinez, who posted 11 points and eight assists. That's the most assists Martinez has posted since back in December of 2024. Edgar Mendoza was another key player, putting up 14 points.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Calexico was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Shadow Hills only racked up eight.

Shadow Hills' defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Jacob Jauregui, who shot 47% from the field on his way to 16 points, and Derick Silva, who scored ten points and five boards.

Calexico didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, an 81-63 loss against Bishop Amat on the 21st. As for Shadow Hills, they have also already played their next game, a 55-48 victory against AGBU on the 21st.
