Volleyball Recap: Crosby Takes a Loss

Crosby lost against Pasadena Memorial back in August of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Cougars took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mavericks. While the Cougars didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Mavericks 25-18 in the first set.

The 3-1 doesn't really show just how close this match was: all the sets Crosby lost were decided by three points or less. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 18-25, 25-23, 26-24, 25-22.

Maya Grace paced Crosby's offense, picking up ten kills. Grace got some help from Hannah Henry and her 16 assists. Kylie Green controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Leading Pasadena Memorial to victory were Dayami Reyes and Addie Dinsdale. Reyes had ten digs, while Dinsdale had 29 kills, 18 digs, and four aces.

Crosby's loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-3. As for Pasadena Memorial, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-3.

Crosby didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Goose Creek Memorial on the 16th. As for Pasadena Memorial, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Northbrook on the 16th.
