Basketball Recap: Tyler Skorupa Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Vista Grande

Canyon del Oro's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 71-56 victory over the Vista Grande Spartans. This was a revenge game for the Dorados: when they faced off against the Spartans back in January, they had to take a 59-54 loss.

Canyon del Oro's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tyler Skorupa, who went 9-for-13 en route to 19 points and seven boards. Thanks to that strong game, Skorupa now owns an excellent 46.8% field goal percentage. The team also got some help courtesy of Henry Matus, who went 8-for-16 on his way to 22 points.

Canyon del Oro's record now sits at 14-7. As for Vista Grande, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 10-11 record this season.

Canyon del Oro wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 79-68 victory against Maricopa on the 6th. As for Vista Grande, they have also already played their next contest, an 82-51 defeat against Mountain View on the 6th.
