Basketball Recap: Immaculata-La Salle Drops Season-High Score on Mater Brickell Academy

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Immaculata-La Salle). They blew past the Mater Brickell Academy Bulls 71-51 on Wednesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Royal Lions also won the last time the pair played back in January.

Despite the loss, Mater Brickell Academy still got an impressive performance from Antonio Medina, who went 7 for 12 on his way to 18 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. Medina is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Sergio Murtinho, who went 5 for 11 on his way to 14 points.

Immaculata-La Salle's victory ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-4. As for Mater Brickell Academy, they dropped their record down to 2-7 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Immaculata-La Salle will challenge Divine Savior Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Divine Savior Academy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Mater Brickell Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Downtown Doral at 7:30 p.m. Downtown Doral is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.5 points per game this season.
