Basketball Recap: Washington Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Washington duked it out withLee's Summit on Friday. The Washington Wildcats fell 78-70 to the Lee's Summit Tigers. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Wednesday (65), the Wildcats still had to take the loss.

Despite the loss, Washington still got an impressive performance from Elliott Berry Jr., who went 6 of 7 from beyond the arc on his way to 27 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamari Williams, who went 7 for 10 en route to 17 points.

Washington's loss dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Lee's Summit, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Washington will host Schlagle at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Washington's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last nine contests. As for Lee's Summit, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Raymore-Peculiar at 7:00 p.m.
