Basketball Game Preview: Cardinal Newman Crusaders vs. Lake Worth Christian Defenders + Official Tickets

Having just played yesterday, the Cardinal Newman Crusaders will get right back to it and host the Lake Worth Christian Defenders at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Wednesday, Cardinal Newman didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Monsignor Pace, but they still walked away with a 53-47 victory. The win continues a trend for the Crusaders in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won four in a row.

Meanwhile, Lake Worth Christian took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Monday. They blew past FAU High 68-30. With the Defenders ahead 39-19 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Lake Worth Christian's win came from a few key players Cardinal Newman will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Michael Davis, who went 5-for-10 to rack up 11 points in addition to four steals and three blocks. Another player making a difference was Jeshua Collado, who shot 42% from the field on his way to 14 points and six boards.

Cardinal Newman didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Lake Worth Christian in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, but they still walked away with a 72-67 victory.
