Basketball Recap: Pioneer Charter School of Science II Takes a Loss

Pioneer Charter School of Science II lost against Notre Dame Cristo Rey back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Pioneer Charter School of Science II Pirates lost 72-46 to the Notre Dame Cristo Rey Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Pirates can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts basketball rankings (they are ranked 316th, while the Panthers are ranked 131st).

Notre Dame Cristo Rey's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from S Garcia, who posted 18 points. Garcia is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last ten games he's played. Another player making a difference was I Feliciano, who earned 14 points.

Pioneer Charter School of Science II's defeat dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Notre Dame Cristo Rey, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 16-1.

Pioneer Charter School of Science II does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Notre Dame Cristo Rey, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Innovation Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Notre Dame Cristo Rey knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine games -- so hopefully Innovation Academy likes a good challenge.
