Boyd has gone a perfect 7-0 against Callisburg recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Boyd Yellowjackets will welcome the Callisburg Wildcats at 11:00 a.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Boyd has five straight victories, Callisburg has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Boyd had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt Pilot Point on Friday. Everything went Boyd's way against Pilot Point as Boyd made off with a 10-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Yellowjackets, who have now won ten matches by six runs or more so far this season.
Abby Atkinson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on three hits and racked up 18 Ks. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Kayli DoByns and Addy Beltram did most of the damage at the plate: DoByns scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4, while Beltram scored two runs while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance gave Beltram a new career-high in runs. Another player making a difference was Stephanie Salas, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Callisburg duked it out with Pilot Point on Monday. Callisburg came up short against Pilot Point, falling 17-6.
Kaydin Gregory was cooking despite her team's loss, firing off two home runs while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Kali Partridge, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Even though they lost, Callisburg lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Boyd's victory bumped their record up to 15-3-2. As for Callisburg, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.
Saturday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Boyd hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .364. However, it's not like Callisburg struggles in that department as they've averaged .323. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Boyd's way against Callisburg in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Boyd made off with a 13-0 win. Will Boyd repeat their success, or does Callisburg have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
