Basketball Game Preview: Pearsall Mavericks vs. Sinton Pirates

The Pearsall Mavericks will take on the Sinton Pirates in a tournament on Thursday. One thing working in Pearsall's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five matchups.

Pearsall took a 24-point defeat the last time they faced off against Eagle Pass, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Mavericks came out on top in a nail-biter against the Eagles on Tuesday, sneaking past 68-65. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Mavericks have posted since January 24th.

Meanwhile, Sinton lost to Mathis at home by a 56-37 margin last Tuesday.

Pearsall's win was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-3. As for Sinton, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Pearsall was dealt a bruising 97-70 defeat at the hands of Sinton when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Can the Mavericks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
