North Fork and Gunnison are an even 3-3 against one another since May of 2022, but likely not for long. The Miners will square off against the Cowboys at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

North Fork let Meeker stack four runs on them in the first inning on Saturday but luckily North Fork prevailed anyway. The Miners walked away with a 7-4 win over the Cowboys. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Miners.

Mario Gama made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up four earned runs off seven hits. Gama was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with three RBI.

In other batting news, Payson Pene was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was David Audelo, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Gunnison got the win against Moffat County on Saturday by a conclusive 11-1. The result was nothing new for the Cowboys, who have now won eight matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Gunnison is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-10 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for North Fork, their record now sits at 10-8.

North Fork skirted past Gunnison 10-8 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Miners since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
