Baseball Recap: Santa Fe Indians vs. Port Neches-Groves Indians
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Santa Fe can now relate to. They fell just short of Port Neches-Groves by a score of 6-4 on Thursday. That's two games in a row now that Santa Fe has lost by exactly two runs.
Easton Cantrell was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Zane Brewer, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI.
This is the second loss in a row for Santa Fe and nudges their season record down to 15-11. Even worse, they were so close both times: the defeats came by an average of only two runs.
