Softball Recap: Homer Takes a Loss

Homer fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Napoleon on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Pirates by a score of 9-8. The Trojans were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Pirates earlier this season, when they won 6-5.

Homer has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season. As for Napoleon, they pushed their record up to 9-7 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Homer will face off against Jonesville at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Napoleon, they will challenge Olivet at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.53 runs per game on average), something the Pirates will no doubt try to take advantage of.
