It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Lower Lake ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Cloverdale Eagles 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Trojans have posted since March 8, 2024.

Zach Jones made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

The win made it two in a row for Lower Lake and bumps their season record up to 2-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for Cloverdale, they dropped their record down to 3-8 with the defeat, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.
