Volleyball Recap: Crestwood Falls Despite Big Games from MACY DAVIS and AUDREY JULIAN

Crestwood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Rootstown Rovers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rovers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 on September 9th.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Crestwood sadly wound up on the wrong side. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 24-26, 25-17, 25-27, 15-6.

Crestwood's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of AUDREY JULIAN, who had 21 digs and one assist, and MACY DAVIS, who had 32 digs and four aces. DAVIS is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last five games she's played.

Crestwood's defeat dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Rootstown, they now have a winning record of 9-8.

Coincidentally, Crestwood and Rootstown will both be playing Chagrin Falls the next time they take the court. The Red Devils will host the Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, while the Rovers will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
