Baseball Game Preview: Cairo-Durham Mustangs vs. Greenville Spartans

Cairo-Durham is on a five-game streak of home losses, and Greenville a three-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Friday. The Cairo-Durham Mustangs will be playing at home against the Greenville Spartans at 4:30 p.m. Cairo-Durham has given up an average of 10.1 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Cairo-Durham couldn't beat Pine Plains on Thursday even though they stacked four runs on them in the first inning. The Mustangs came up short against the Bombers, falling 21-7.

Logan Walz was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Young, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run.

Germantown hit Greenville with a seven-run seventh inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Spartans fell just short of the Clippers by a score of 9-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Spartans have suffered since April 9th.

Greenville's loss dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Cairo-Durham, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-11.
