Volleyball Recap: Flint Hill Comes Up Short in High-Profile Contest with Paul VI

Flint Hill faced Paul VI in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Huskies fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 2-1. The Huskies were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2022.

The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-19, 23-25.

Mila Smith paced Flint Hill's offense, picking up eight kills. Smith got some help from Ava Zender and her 14 assists. Evie Huang controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Flint Hill dropped their record down to 3-7 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Paul VI, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-1.

Coincidentally, Flint Hill and Paul VI will both be playing Fairfax the next time they take the court. The Panthers will head out to face the Lions at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Huskies will play them later in the day, at 10:00 a.m.
