Baseball Game Preview: West Carroll Thunder vs. Milledgeville Missiles

The West Carroll Thunder will head out to take on the Milledgeville Missiles at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for West Carroll and five for Milledgeville.

West Carroll fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Earlville on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Red Raiders.

Caleb Herpstreith made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 3-for-4. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Winter Harrington was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Milledgeville's offense. They came up short against Galena on Thursday, falling 10-0.

Milledgeville's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for West Carroll, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

West Carroll might still be hurting after the 16-1 defeat they got from Milledgeville in their previous meeting back in March of 2023. Can West Carroll avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
