Baseball Recap: Tri-Valley Vikings vs. MacArthur Generals

While Tri-Valley put up some runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for MacArthur. The Vikings walked away with a 4-0 victory over the Generals. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Vikings.

Not much got past Lucas Filarski, who gave up just a hit and racked up ten Ks to keep MacArthur off the board. Filarski has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Cole Klein was excellent, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Justin McNeely, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Tri-Valley's win bumped their record up to 14-7-1. As for MacArthur, they are on a 14-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-16.

Tri-Valley wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 1-0 defeat against St. Bede on the 9th. As for MacArthur, they are taking a road trip to challenge Taylorville at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
