Basketball Recap: Shaun Murray's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Harrison Central over Ocean Springs

Harrison Central lost a heartbreaker to Ocean Springs when they met back in January, and they left with a heavy heart again on Monday. The Harrison Central Red Rebels fell just short of the Ocean Springs Greyhounds by a score of 57-54. Sadly, that's the third time they've come up short against the Red Rebels this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 52-50 last Monday.

Harrison Central's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Shaun Murray, who posted 19 points and seven rebounds. Nehemiah Barnett was another key player, going 6 of 13 on his way to 13 points and five assists.

Even though they lost, Harrison Central smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in four consecutive contests.

Harrison Central has been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-18 record this season. As for Ocean Springs, the victory got them back to even at 11-11.
