Basketball Recap: Monte Del Sol Charter Comes Up Short

Monte Del Sol Charter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss. They were dealt a 57-22 defeat at the hands of the Jemez Valley Warrior. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warrior this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 45-6 back in January.

Monte Del Sol Charter's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ariana Otero, who posted 11 points and five steals. Those 11 points gave Otero a new career-high.

Monte Del Sol Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 2-17. As for Jemez Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season.

Coming up, Monte Del Sol Charter will venture away from home to face off against Menaul at 5:30 p.m. on February 18th. As for Jemez Valley, they will welcome Oak Grove Classical Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
