Basketball Recap: Somerset Sky Pointe Takes a Loss

Somerset Sky Pointe's tournament run continued when they took on Spring Creek on Friday. The Somerset Sky Pointe Eagles were outmatched by the Spring Creek Spartans and fell 76-46. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Somerset Sky Pointe still got an impressive performance from Ja'Cory Gory, who dropped a double-double on 31 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Emmitt Bell, who posted nine points.

Tayden Francis was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds for Spring Creek. What's more, Francis also racked up eight assists, the most he's had since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Djrevan Demick, who went 7 of 11 on his way to 18 points in addition to six boards and three steals.

Somerset Sky Pointe's loss dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Spring Creek, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-4.

Somerset Sky Pointe wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 60-52 victory against White Pine on the 28th. As for Spring Creek, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 52-39 win against West Wendover on the 28th.
