Basketball Recap: Hempfield Area Takes a Loss

Hempfield Area was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 55-38 bruising from the Upper St. Clair Panthers. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 75-50 back in January.

Hempfield Area's defeat dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Upper St. Clair, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-2 record this season.

Hempfield Area will venture away from home to challenge Norwin at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Upper St. Clair, they will host Mt. Lebanon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Upper St. Clair is on a five-game streak of home wins, Mt. Lebanon a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
