Preview: Klein Forest Eagles vs. Klein Bearkats
Klein Forest is 0-9 against Klein since September of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Klein Forest Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Klein Bearkats at 7:00 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Klein Forest and five for Klein.
Last Thursday, Klein Forest was beaten by Tomball 45-7. While losing is never fun, Klein Forest can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 323rd, while Tomball is ranked 78th).
Meanwhile, Klein was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 34-29 to Tomball Memorial.
Klein Forest's loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 2-6. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 7-1 Klein Collins and 7-1 Tomball Memorial (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 78.1% over those games). As for Klein, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.
Klein Forest came up short against Klein when the teams last played back in October of 2022, falling 27-14. Thankfully for Klein Forest, Myles Arterberry (who rushed for 171 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 9.0 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
