Recap: Eastmoor Academy Warriors vs. South Bulldogs

The Eastmoor Academy Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They were the victim of a rough 71-48 loss at the hands of South. While losing is never fun, Eastmoor Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 515th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 104th).
Eastmoor Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being James Nowell, who scored ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Watkins, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and three steals.
It was another big night for Christian Stokes, who scored 32 points for South. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Stokes has scored all season. Maurice Mccall was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Eastmoor Academy's loss was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-10. As for South, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 11-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Eastmoor Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Cowboys at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th. As for South, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Red Devils at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th. Hopefully Marion-Franklin focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 last Tuesday.
