Basketball Preview: Foard Tigers vs. North Iredell Raiders
The Foard Tigers will take on the North Iredell Raiders in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Foard's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
Having struggled with 12 defeats in a row dating back to last season, Foard turned things around against Cherryville last Tuesday. They breezed by the Ironmen to the tune of 78-50. The Tigers' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Foard's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Noah Hedrick, who went 10 of 20 en route to 25 points and five rebounds. Hedrick is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Holden Caldwell, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine assists.
Foard smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in November of 2023.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for North Iredell, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They blew past South Iredell 72-50 on Tuesday.
North Iredell's win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Foard, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-6.
Foard and North Iredell were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup back in January, but Foard came up empty-handed after a 57-56 loss. Can Foard avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
