Basketball Recap: Cheraw Comes Up Short

Cheraw has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a blow against the Lee Central Stallions on Monday, falling 63-32. The Braves were down 55-30 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Despite the loss, Cheraw still got an impressive performance from Jaleah Faulkner, who posted 17 points.

Lee Central got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ke'Myra Dennis out in front who earned ten points and seven steals. What's more, Dennis also racked up two blocks, the most she's had since back in January of 2024. MyKeriyah Holmes was another key player, going 6-for-11 en route to 15 points and seven boards.

Cheraw's loss dropped their record down to 16-8. As for Lee Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season.

Cheraw didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 87-21 defeat against Andrew Jackson on the 12th. Lee Central has also already played their next contest (against C.A. Johnson), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
