Elmwood-Murdock had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 53-35 win over the Lourdes Central Catholic Knights. Elmwood-Murdock has seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw Lourdes Central Catholic, too.

Several Knights players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Vance Poppleton, who posted seven points and 13 boards. Those 13 rebounds gave Poppleton a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Oscar Krog, who earned seven points and six boards.

Elmwood-Murdock has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.5 points per game. As for Lourdes Central Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 5-11.

Elmwood-Murdock has already played their next contest, a 71-62 defeat against Fillmore Central on the 25th. As for Lourdes Central Catholic, they will host Sterling at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lourdes Central Catholic is facing Sterling at the right time seeing as Sterling is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
