Preview: Wethersfield Flying Geese vs. Princeville Princes

Wethersfield and Princeville are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2017, but not for long. The Wethersfield Flying Geese will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Princeville Princes at 12:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Wethersfield's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Princeville has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.

Wethersfield won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Friday. They were dealt a 66-34 loss at the hands of Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge]. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Wethersfield has scored all season.

Meanwhile, Princeville pushed their score all the way to 55 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 66-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Fieldcrest. While losing is never fun, Princeville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 221st, while Fieldcrest is ranked 35th).

Wethersfield has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-15 record this season. As for Princeville, their defeat dropped their record down to 23-5.

Wethersfield took a serious blow against Princeville in their previous matchup last Thursday, falling 71-38. Will Wethersfield have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
