Football Recap: Worthington Christian Comes Up Short

Worthington Christian's game on Friday was all tied up 13-13 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They came up short against the Orrville Red Riders, falling 34-13.

Despite the loss, Worthington Christian saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jack Smolenski picked up 139 receiving yards and two scores. Smolenski's longest reception was for an incredible 74 yards.

Worthington Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Orrville, they pushed their record up to 5-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

Worthington Christian didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 51-38 victory against Dayton Christian on the 17th. As for Orrville, they have also already played their next game, a 35-28 win against Manchester on the 17th.
