Soccer Game Preview: Clear Springs vs. Clear Falls

The Clear Springs Chargers will head out to square off against the Clear Falls Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Clear Springs will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Clear Falls better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if last week is any indication, that's when Clear Springs really get things going. Everything went Clear Springs' way against Brazoswood on Tuesday as Clear Springs made off with a 3-0 victory. Given the Chargers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 104th, while the Buccaneers are ranked 256th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Clear Falls hasn't lost a match since January 7th, a trend which continued in their latest game on Tuesday. They and Clear Creek finished up on equal footing with a 0-0 draw. That draw made it three straight for the Knights.

Clear Springs' win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-4-1. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three games. Clear Falls' draw gives them a new season record of 4-3-4.

Clear Springs took their victory against Clear Falls when the teams last played back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 4-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Clear Springs since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
