Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Abbi Durow and Aubrey Carder Lead Millard South to Victory

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Millard West, Millard South was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They took down the Omaha Westside Warriors 46-32. This was payback for the Patriots, who suffered a 52-43 loss the last time these two teams met.

Millard South was led to victory by Aubrey Carder and Abbi Durow. Carder went 5 for 9 en route to 13 points, while Durow went 6 of 9 on her way to 14 points. Ellie Leuschen also deserves some recognition as she scored her first points of the season.

Millard South was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Omaha Westside only racked up six assists.

Omaha Westside lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Himayajo Metoyer, who posted ten points. Metoyer is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Gueryn Kay was another key player, putting up seven points.

Millard South's win bumped their record up to 10-6. As for Omaha Westside, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-6.

Millard South will head out on the road to face off against Northwest at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Omaha Westside has already played their next matchup (against Lee's Summit West), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
