Softball Game Preview: Hanover Hawks vs. Marshfield Rams

The Hanover Hawks will venture away from home to take on the Marshfield Rams at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Hanover gave up the first runs on Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They walked away with a 7-3 win over Plymouth North.

Meanwhile, while Marshfield put up plenty of runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Rockland. Marshfield blew past Rockland 21-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Rams.

Sofia Blanco was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Blanco was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Marshfield got a massive performance out of Madison Adams, who fired off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 4-for-5. Another player making a difference was Madelyn Whitaker, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs.

Hanover skirted past Marshfield 7-6 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hanover since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
