Baseball Recap: Clifton Central Drops Season-High Score on Grant Park

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Clifton Central). They put the hurt on the Grant Park Dragons with a sharp 14-4 win on Thursday. The victory continues a trend for the Comets in their matchups with the Dragons: they've now won nine in a row.

Clifton Central pushed their record up to 10-9 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Grant Park, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-12.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clifton Central will venture away from home to square off against Kankakee at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Grant Park, they will head out to challenge Iroquois West at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
