League recap: Bismarck-Henning rises, Milford falls in league standings

Vermilion Valley league recap: 3/27/13

Bismarck-Henning made the biggest jump in the standings this week, moving from eighth to second place in Vermilion Valley thanks to a 1-0 record over the past seven days. Meanwhile, Milford fell hardest in the standings, dropping from fourth all the way to seventh place after going 0-0 in the past week. First-place Hoopeston (1-0, 1-0) went 1-0 over the past week.

The Cornjerkers had the most successful week out of all the teams in the league, as it came away with one league win. Armstrong defeated the Trojans 8-3.

Jamaica/Catlin gave up just eight walks last week, ensuring that it held on to the top spot in the league in that category with only eight allowed for the season.

Unity's Cole Taylor struck out eight the Storm hitters en route to a 5-1 victory on March 23. Over his five innings pitched he allowed five runs on seven hits.
