Softball Recap: Greenwood Takes a Loss

After flying high against Pecos last Friday, Greenwood came back down to earth. The Rangers fell just short of the Fort Stockton Panthers by a score of 10-9 on Tuesday. The Rangers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Panthers earlier this season, when they won 9-4.

Greenwood got a big performance out of Brylee Savage, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Millie Wilkinson, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.

Greenwood has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-15-1 record this season. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only 1.67 runs. As for Fort Stockton, they now have a winning record of 16-15.

As of now, neither Greenwood nor the Panthers have any future games scheduled.
