Softball Game Preview: Danville Ironmen vs. Williamsport Millionaires

The Danville Ironmen will head out to square off against the Williamsport Millionaires at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Danville is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.

Danville blew Shikellamy out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Thursday Shikellamy got their revenge. The Ironmen fell just short of the Braves by a score of 8-6. Surprisingly, this marked the Ironmen's seventh straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Brynn Wilson and Brianna Blue stepped up to the plate in a big way. Wilson went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI, while Blue went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Abby Haught, who went 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Tunkhannock hit Williamsport with a four-run first inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Millionaires came up short against the Tigers, falling 10-3.

Williamsport's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Danville, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7.

Danville suffered a grim 16-9 defeat to Williamsport in their previous meeting on April 3rd. Can the Ironmen avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
