Baseball Recap: Venture Academy Wins Going Away Against Millennium

Venture Academy came out on top against Millennium on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run sixth inning. The Mustangs put the hurt on the Falcons with a sharp 12-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won 13 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Isaac Stewart made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

In other batting news, Xavier Perez was incredible, going 3-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Jose Duenas was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Venture Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .541. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Millennium only posted an OBP of .174.

The win made it two in a row for Venture Academy and bumps their season record up to 16-2. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 2 run in those games. As for Millennium, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-6.

Venture Academy will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Falcons: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
