Berthoud skates past Weld Central with ease

Recap: Berthoud Spartans vs. Weld Central Rebels

The Berthoud Spartans scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They blew past Weld Central 69-21 at home. The win was some much needed relief for Berthoud as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Berthoud was led to victory by Avery Pfohl and Maddie Rogers. Pfohl scored 21 points along with five steals, while Rogers scored 15 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Rogers has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Olivia Martinez, who scored ten points.

When it comes to explaining why Weld Central lost, one person who can't be blamed is Riley Phelps. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 rebounds. Phelps is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last seven games she's played.

Berthoud's victory bumped their record up to 3-8. As for Weld Central, they bumped their record down to 3-7 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Berthoud will take on The Classical Academy at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. The Classical Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Weld Central, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Brush at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Brush is ranked 236th, while Weld Central is ranked 222nd).
