Football Preview: Center Roughriders vs. Athens Hornets
The Center Roughriders will head out to take on the Athens Hornets at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Last Friday, everything came up roses for Center against Brownsboro as the team secured a 49-12 victory. Given the Roughriders' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 173rd, while the Bears are ranked 916th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
A big part of Center's win came down to the chemistry between Travis Belin and his top target Timothy Johnson. Center pushed their record up to 7-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Athens, their win bumped their record up to 6-2.
