Football Preview: Center Roughriders vs. Athens Hornets
The Center Roughriders will head out to take on the Athens Hornets at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Last Friday, everything came up roses for Center against Brownsboro as the team secured a 49-12 victory. Given the Roughriders' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 173rd, while the Bears are ranked 916th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
A big part of Center's win came down to the chemistry between Travis Belin and his top target Timothy Johnson. Belin threw for 197 yards and four touchdowns while Johnson picked up 133 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Johnson also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making two total tackles and defending four passes.

David Richardson looked great while leading his team to the win, throwing for 266 yards and four touchdowns while completing 73.1% of his passes.
Center pushed their record up to 7-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Athens, their win bumped their record up to 6-2.
