There's no place like home for Kasson-Mantorville, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They came out on top against the Winona Winhawks by a score of 3-1 on Wednesday. The win continues a trend for the Komets in their matchups with the Winhawks: they've now won five in a row.

While Kasson-Mantorville might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Winona scored at least 20 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 26-28, 25-20, 25-23.

Kasson-Mantorville's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Taya Threinen, who had nine digs and six aces.

Kasson-Mantorville's win bumped their record up to 18-8. As for Winona, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-17 record this season.

After both having extra time off, Kasson-Mantorville and Northfield will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Winona does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
