Recap: Yukon Millers vs. Owasso Rams
The Yukon Millers pushed their score all the way to 42 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They suffered a tough 63-42 loss at the hands of Owasso. Yukon was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-14.
When it comes to explaining why Yukon lost, one person who can't be blamed is Holden Kee. Despite the final result, he threw for 368 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 80 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries. Logan Day also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Owasso was led to victory by Chris Zaferes and Jayson Moll. Zaferes rushed for 60 yards and three touchdowns on only seven carries, while Moll rushed for 76 yards and three touchdowns on only seven carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Cecil Garrett, who rushed for 59 yards and a touchdown.
Yukon's loss was their seventh straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 1-7. As for Owasso, the win was the third in a row for they, bringing their record for this year to 6-2.
Yukon will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Edmond North at 7:00 p.m. Edmond North is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. As for Owasso, they will head out on the road to face off against Edmond Memorial at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Edmond Memorial will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Oklahoma Rankings (they are ranked 67th, while Owasso is ranked ninth).
