Volleyball Game Preview: Coastal Christian Centurions vs. John Paul II Catholic Saints

The Coastal Christian Centurions will head out to challenge the John Paul II Catholic Saints at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Coastal Christian has three straight wins, John Paul II Catholic has 13 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

On Friday, Coastal Christian had just enough and edged out Davidson Day 3-2.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Coastal Christian got the one that really mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 23-25, 25-11, 23-25, 15-13.

Meanwhile, John Paul II Catholic lost 3-0 to Cape Fear Academy on Thursday.

John Paul II Catholic was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The final score came out to 25-9, 25-22, 25-13.

John Paul II Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 1-16. As for Coastal Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 15-10.

Coastal Christian took their win against John Paul II Catholic in their previous matchup back in September by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Centurions since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
