Volleyball Recap: John Ehret Comes Up Short

John Ehret suffered their biggest defeat since October 1st on Tuesday. They came up short against St. Mary's Dominican, falling 3-0. The loss continues a trend for the Patriots in their meetings with St. Mary's Dominican: they've now lost eight in a row.

The final score came out to 25-9, 25-10, 25-5.

St. Mary's Dominican's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Delaney Durr, who had seven digs and three aces. That's the most digs Durr has posted over her last five matchups. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Baker, who had 20 assists and three digs.

John Ehret's defeat dropped their record down to 15-6. As for St. Mary's Dominican, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 21 of their last 23 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 28-3 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. John Ehret is set to take on their familiar foe East Jefferson at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, St. Mary's Dominican will square off against rival Mt. Carmel at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
