Basketball Recap: Bell's Run of Four Straight Victories Now Over

After a string of four wins, Bell's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. The contest between them and the Byron Nelson Bobcat didn't end well, with the Bell Blue Raiders falling 67-50. While losing is never fun, the Blue Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 202nd, while the Bobcat are ranked 76th).

Bell lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Hannah Due, who posted 14 points and five assists. That's the most assists Due has posted since back in November of 2024. Madi Capers was another key player, putting up 12 points and seven rebounds.

Leading Byron Nelson to victory were Belle Ratliff and Kinsey Morris. Ratliff dropped a double-double on 23 points and 12 boards, while Morris went 6 of 12 on her way to 16 points along with six steals and five assists. Ratliff's morning made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kennedy Moss, who had nine points and six boards.

Bell's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-8. As for Byron Nelson, they pushed their record up to 16-8 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home.

Bell didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 52-49 defeat against Trinity on the 3rd. As for Byron Nelson, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 78-31 victory against Keller Central on the 3rd.
