Recap: Mississinawa Valley Blackhawks vs. Union City Indians

The Mississinawa Valley Blackhawks were the 70-49 winner over the Union City Indians when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. Mississinawa Valley had to suffer through a rough 67-19 loss at the hands of Union City. Mississinawa Valley was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-14.

Despite the defeat, Mississinawa Valley saw an underclassman step up: Cing Scott scored 8 points.

Union City was led to victory by Trendon Spence and Conner Walser. Spence scored 12 points along with 5 assists and 3 steals, while Walser scored 17 points along with 6 assists and 4 steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Walser has scored at least 25% of Union City's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zackary Fulk, who scored 8 points.

Mississinawa Valley's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Union City, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Mississinawa Valley will be playing at home against Tri-Village at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Union City, they will head out on the road to face off against Winchester Community at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Winchester Community will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 98th, while Union City is ranked 13th).
