Basketball Game Preview: O'Connor Panthers vs. Brennan Bears

O'Connor is 1-9 against Brennan since February of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Panthers will take on the Bears at 7:00 p.m. O'Connor has given up an average of 50.3 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

On Tuesday, O'Connor came up short against Harlan and fell 59-50.

Meanwhile, Brennan had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 31.7 points) and they went ahead and made it eight on Friday. They blew past the Hawks 63-39. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Bears' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked fourth, while the Hawks are ranked 78th).

O'Connor better keep an eye on Bella Flemings. She was instrumental in Brennan's win, dropping a double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds. Flemings has been hot for a while, having posted nine or more boards the last 15 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Deylamore Tapia, who went 6-for-13 en route to 13 points.

Brennan was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. They racked up eight more assists than Harlan's also-impressive total of 11.

O'Connor's defeat dropped their record down to 16-10. As for Brennan, their win bumped their record up to 23-4.

O'Connor took a serious blow against Brennan in their previous matchup back in December of 2025, falling 64-35. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Panthers were down 39-19.
