Soccer Recap: Vienna/Goreville Takes a Loss

Vienna/Goreville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against the Carbondale Terriers, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, Vienna/Goreville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 394th, while Carbondale are ranked 186th).

Vienna/Goreville's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Carbondale, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-6.

Coincidentally, Vienna/Goreville and Carbondale will both be playing Mt. Vernon the next time they take the pitch. The Terriers will host the Rams at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Eagles will host them at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
